Amanta Granted Two Additional Special Exploration Licences at its Langu Gold Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 14, 2006) - Amanta Resources Ltd. (the Company) (TSX VENTURE:AMH) is pleased to announce that it has been granted two additional Special Prospecting Licences (SPLs), contiguous to its Langu gold property in southern Thailand. The new licences cover an area of 32 sq. km, increasing the total licence area held by the Company at Langu to approximately 57 sq. km.

Amanta has completed extensive exploration programmes over the Langu property, leading to the identification of a strongly anomalous gold trend extending for some six km, in a roughly north-south direction. Amanta had applied for the additional SPLs as the anomalous gold trend appears to continue beyond the previous borders of Amanta's licences.

In addition, recognising a similar style of mineralisation in Surat Thani Province, Thailand, some 100 km north of Langu, Amanta has now applied for two SPLs in that area. These licences, which cover 32 sq. km, are currently being processed by the Thai government.

Amanta has planned an initial drilling programme of up to 5,000 metres for the Langu property. It is anticipated that this programme will commence before the end of 2006, following completion of the current drilling activities at the Company's Lanna tungsten project. The drilling programme will continue through the first quarter of 2007.

Geological Information contained within this report has been verified by Pieter Bakker (Director, Executive VP - Amanta Resources Ltd.). Mr. Bakker satisfies the requirements of a Qualified Person as defined in the National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects).

Amanta Resources Ltd. is focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region. The Company concentrates on the systematic evaluation of known mineral occurrences, rather than "greenfields" exploration, creating early opportunities to finance and develop mines.
