Amanta Resources Ltd.: Assay Results Received From Detailed Survey Over Southern Part of Langu Anomalous Gold Trend

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 8, 2005) - Amanta Resources Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AMH) is pleased to announce that it has received gold assay results from the detailed surface sampling program, covering the southern extension of the anomalous gold trend in the Langu exploration licence.

The sampling grid covers an area of 1000 x 2500 metres with line spacing at 50 metres and samples taken every 20 metres. Approximately 2500 samples were collected, and then assayed at the Mineral Assay and Services laboratory in Bangkok. The samples were assayed for gold by combined fire assay and atomic absorption using a 3 ppb lower limit of detection.

Detailed plotting and interpretation of the results is ongoing, but the initial review of the data shows maximum values up to 555 ppb gold within a large anomalous area delimited by the 50 ppb contour. The gold anomaly generally coincides with outcropping and sub-outcropping silicified calcareous sedimentary rocks and laminated silty limestone.

The detailed survey has also resulted in the discovery of further high grade mineralization at surface. At the extreme south of the gold trend Company geologists sampled an outcropping laminated silty limestone unit with disseminated arsenopyrite needles. Four grab samples returned values of 4.6g/t gold, 5.6g/t gold, 6.1g/t gold and 9.5g/t gold. The Company believes the presence of this additional surface mineralization enhances the significance of the demonstrated six kilometre long trend.

Because the gold trend appears to continue beyond the limits of the Company's present exploration Licences, and the newly discovered mineralized rock units lie close to the southern limit, the Company is applying for additional licences to cover the potential southern, northern and western extensions of the trend.

As previously announced, the Company is undertaking a limited exploratory drilling program at the northern part of the trend. To date four shallow cored holes have been completed, totaling 370 metres. The core is being logged and samples prepared for assay; results will be reported when received.

Geological Information contained within this report has been verified by Pieter Bakker (Director, Executive VP - Amanta Resources Ltd.). Mr. Bakker satisfies the requirements of a Qualified Person as defined in the National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects).

Amanta Resources Ltd. is focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region. The Company's strategy is to concentrate on the systematic evaluation of known mineral occurrences, rather than "greenfields" exploration, creating early opportunities to finance and develop mines.
