Amanta Resources Ltd. Completes Geophysical Programme at Langu Gold Project

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 10, 2006) - Amanta Resources Ltd. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AMH) is pleased to announce the completion of the Second Phase of its exploration programme at its wholly-owned Langu Gold Property, in Satun Province, Thailand. This phase included an extensive trenching programme and geophysical surveys.

As indicated in an earlier News Release dated 17 May 2006, the trenching program included a total of 3000 meters of shallow trenches. The results of the program included 21 meters @ 1.8 g/t gold in the May Prospect and 7 meters @ 8.8 g/t gold in Discovery South as well as wide zones grading between 0.3 and 0.6 g/t gold in trenches over the Banhan Prospect. The overall results from the programme showed good correlation with the 6 km. long, anomalous gold trend outlined by earlier mapping and surface sampling programmes carried out over the 25 sq. km. licence area.

Also as part of the phase 2 work, the Company completed a gradient array IP survey over six 1 km2 blocks covering the north-south oriented anomalous gold zone and the May Prospect located to the west of this zone. Anomalous resistivity and chargeability patterns resulting from the gradient array coverage show an excellent correlation with the anomalous gold zone as well as with the mapped out silica enrichment zone. A particularly strong correlation exists between anomalous resistivity and both the highest grade rock samples and the anomalous trench intersections in the May, Banhan and Discovery South Prospects.

Following the success of the gradient array survey, and in order to be able to construct cross sections showing the orientation in depth of the anomalous resistivity and chargeability, thirteen east-west oriented offset Pole-Dipole arrays were measured over selected parts of the prospect. A maximum of 16 receiving stations with a spacing of 50 meters and 100 meter line spacing were used in the survey. The results were interpreted and a total of 33 IP/resistivity inversion model sections were constructed. These model sections show excellent correlation with the gradient array results and, especially in the May and Banhan Prospects, are supporting the positive trenching results. Several of the sections over these prospects indicate depth continuity to well over 100 meters. The complete set of profiles constitutes a good guide for the upcoming drill program.

The Company is now finalising its planning for an initial drilling programme at the Langu gold property. This phase of drilling shall include approximately 5,000 meters of core drilling and is expected to commence shortly.

Amanta Resources Ltd. is focused on mineral exploration, development and production in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region.
