'Amazing Rock the Earth Race' Signs Engine 7 Films as Title Sponsor

Unique, Challenging Race Gaining Momentum, Set for April 21, 2013

DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Apr 17, 2013) - Rock the Earth, a national nonprofit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, today announced that it has signed Denver and Los Angeles-based Engine 7 Films as its title sponsor. Taking place Sunday, April 21, 2013, the race will combine the excitement of the popular television show "The Amazing Race" with the global Earth Day cause (more info).

"In 2012, we opened an office in Denver to work with local clients developing new media projects in the realms of music, sports, philanthropy and social engagement. In support of this, we're proud to partner with Rock the Earth on its first annual 'Amazing Rock the Earth Race,'" said Whitney Kroenke, partner, Engine 7 Films.

Engine 7 Films is involved with the vibrant start up scene in Denver and works closely with Galvanize, led by founder and managing director Jim Deters. Galvanize is an early stage venture capital fund and a community for entrepreneurs to learn, grow and launch their startups.

Race Details
The "Amazing Rock the Earth Race" is expected to take up to seven hours to complete and will end with a party at the final clue location. Participants will gather at 8 a.m. on race day in the parking lot of Rock the Earth's LoDo Denver office at 1536 Wynkoop Street. Snacks, coffee, race t-shirts and numbered bibs will be provided and are included with registration. Following an orientation, the two-person teams will set off on a fun-filled hunt for clue locations throughout Colorado's Front Range, demanding physical and mental energy. Rules and criteria include:

  • Two people per team.
  • Race is limited to 75 teams.
  • All participants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All participants must be able to drive and partake in moderate physical activity such as running, lifting, and hiking.

Prizes
There will be prizes for the first three teams to finish, as well as best-dressed team and a wildcard prize for a team that successfully checks in at all locations; First Place: $2,500; Second Place: $1,000; Third Place: $750; Wild Card: $500; Best-dressed: $500.

Registration and Cost
Registration is $200 per team and will run until all 75 team spots are filled. Day-of-race registration may be available at $250 per team.
