Amazon Consulting Acquires PartnerAlliances

Company Expands Strategic Reach by Bolstering Alliance Development and Execution

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - November 11, 2010) - Amazon Consulting, a leading partnering services firm dedicated to helping companies elevate the impact of partnering, today announced the acquisition of PartnerAlliances, a strategic alliance development company. This acquisition enhances Amazon Consulting's position as a thought leader and strategic partnering organization, addressing both channel and alliance partnerships. With its strong reputation in the IT channel for research, strategic consulting, automation tools and marketing programs, Amazon Consulting will expand its focus on alliances service and strategy development, while helping to monetize these strategic alliances with go-to-market planning and execution.

"In recent years, the economy has driven companies to emphasize the channel side of their business because of the immediate need for revenue, but now we're seeing a shift by technology vendors to look longer term and grow their businesses through an integrated model that includes alliances," said Diane Krakora, CEO of Amazon Consulting. "We've always had a very holistic view of channel and alliance management programs and strategies, and this acquisition expands our capabilities with a dedicated focus that allows us to better help our clients put their alliances to work through their existing channels."

"It's a good move for Amazon Consulting to enhance their market offering through the acquisition," said Matthew Glitzer, former SAP alliances executive. "We see they could offer a compelling solution to bridge the gap between development of a strategic alliance and driving results through go-to-market activities with the channel partners."

According to the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), high technology companies today face immense pressure to leverage corporate alliances to achieve greater results, as opposed to doing everything themselves. 92% of U.S. technology companies say that alliances are important to present and future growth and 77% claim they are already involved with alliances. These firms demonstrate 43% greater revenue than their non-aligned counterparts. However, while companies remain interested in alliances and their potential to increase revenue and establish a competitive advantage, most fail to meet expectations.

"Many companies miss the opportunity to maximize adoption of the alliance outcome or product," said Tim Curley, Managing Partner of PartnerAlliances. "We have been very successful in this space by providing the services, resources and tools for building and managing strategic alliances. The union between Amazon Consulting and PartnerAlliances gives technology vendors access to a complete suite of services and expertise spanning both channels and alliances. Our clients gain considerable competitive advantages when they execute on both activities simultaneously."

"Strategic alliances have enormous unrecognized potential in contributing to the top-line revenue growth of companies," said Harry Gould, SVP Worldwide Alliances at Informatica. "Amazon Consulting's acquisition of PartnerAlliances compliments their expertise in the channel by helping clients define solutions and then monetize the offering through effective routes-to-market. As an Amazon Consulting client and user of PartnerPath, we're excited about the benefits this acquisition will bring to our alliances investment."

PartnerAlliances has helped its clients maximize alliance success with a variety of strategic development, competitive benchmarking, communications, partner enablement, and legal and governance programs. In addition, the company developed the Alliance Life Cycle Tracker™, a proprietary tool to track and monitor all aspects of a client's alliance relationship, while enabling clients to map out next steps of engagement. This tool will be incorporated into Amazon Consulting's PartnerPath program automation system.

"What's most compelling to our clients and our prospects is really helping to maximize and monetize their strategic alliances, through a tight integration with the existing field and direct teams, as well as the channel," added Ms. Krakora. "Often times, alliances respond to a customer need with a product bundle or a solution set, but rarely do they have a strong go-to-market plan or ability to maximize the market awareness. Amazon Consulting is now uniquely equipped to help integrate both the alliances and channel sides of their businesses."
