AmbironTrustWave Selects Sensory Networks' NodalCore Technology for Award-Winning ipANGEL™ Security Product Line

Sensory's Leading Content Inspection Technology Selected for Use in AmbironTrustWave's ipANGEL-400, -800 and -1200 Product Lines to Boost Throughput Performance and Deliver Robust Security Protection

PALO ALTO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 31, 2006 -- Sensory Networks, the leader in acceleration technology for network security applications, today announced that its patented NodalCore® acceleration technology has been selected for the award-winning ipANGEL™ 4.0 appliance series from AmbironTrustWave.

The ipANGEL is an industry-award-winning line of security appliance products developed by AmbironTrustWave. Using a hardened proprietary operating system, the ipANGEL raises the bar in both operating efficiency and security threat management supported by a range of advanced capabilities that include predictive protection and adaptive intelligence -- a patent-pending capability that provides real-time self tuning of the platform's Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) rules to the network environment. The ipANGEL series is the first security solution of its kind to automate and integrate vulnerability discovery, correlation, and robust IPS protection capabilities.

Sensory's NodalCore C-2000 hardware plug-in based content security accelerator cards have been selected for use in the ipANGEL series to further boost the platform scanning and throughput performance by off-loading key content inspection tasks such as pattern-matching, decomposition and message digests. The Sensory solution includes a specialized co-processor that frees critical system resources on the host platform to raise performance to full line speeds. The ipANGEL-400, -800, and -1200 products ship with a NodalCore C-2000 Ultra card rated to 2Gbps performance and feature:

-- Integrated Transparent Firewall with full stateful inspection
-- Blistering performance with the Intel chipset and a specialized co-
    processor from Sensory Networks
-- Asset-centric, predictive operation that matches protection to the
    vulnerabilities of the network
-- Patent-pending Adaptive Intelligence that self-tunes its rules in real-
-- Easy deployment and administration at the perimeter, in the DMZ or on
    internal LAN segments
"By uniquely tailoring security to the nature of the assets being protected, the ipANGEL series can protect against even 'zero day' attacks," said Vik Phatak, CTO for AmbironTrustWave. "Sensory Networks' NodalCore technology was crucial for boosting content inspection performance."

"We are very pleased to be partnered with AmbironTrustWave to help them deliver next-generation high-performance security solutions," said Cheryl Poland, VP of Sales for Sensory Networks. "Our NodalCore acceleration technology is easy to integrate and provides the necessary performance acceleration so that security solutions providers such as AmbironTrustWave can support multiple applications on their products without compromising critical performance metrics such as content scanning speed and application accuracy."

"In the highly competitive IPS appliance market, product differentiation is the key to success," said Jeff Wilson, Principle Analyst for Infonetics Research. "The auto-tuning capability of the ipANGEL series in combination with Sensory's NodalCore acceleration technology, make it a leading contender in the IPS space."
