American Arium to Present at First Annual Multicore Expo

Arium to Address Key Problems Associated With Multicore Debug

TUSTIN, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2006 --American Arium, an industry leader in hardware-assisted development tools, will speak at this year's Multicore Expo in Santa Clara, California. Senior Field Applications Engineer Jeff Pitts will present, "Debugging Complex Multicore Systems," on Wednesday, March 22, at 4:00 pm.

A multicore processor by definition includes two or more cores in a single processor, allowing more tasks to be performed in parallel in each clock cycle. Multicore processors can simultaneously execute independent applications, each running on a separate core, or execute compute-intensive threaded applications, with different threads running in tandem on different cores.

There are a number of issues related to debugging multicore processors targets, especially in the areas of motion control, master/slave processing, multiple programs and contexts, breakpoint management, and memory map management. Pitts' presentation delivers a basic overview of the types of debug functions required to address these challenges in an intuitive and efficient manner.

"Debugging multicore processors presents unique challenges as systems become more complex," said Jeff Acampora, vice president, Sales & Marketing, American Arium. "The presentation will provide attendees with a new and innovative approach to multicore debugging, offering them ways to shorten their development cycle and get to market sooner."

Running from March 21-23, Multicore Expo is focused on providing design engineers with the tools they will need to do their jobs. According to conference spokespersons, Multicore Expo is different from other conferences in that it is dedicated to practical solutions. Multicore Expo will not focus on microprocessor architectures, but on how to use microprocessor architectures, as well as the software tools, operating systems, and other tools of the trade.

Arium will also exhibit at the conference. The company's booth number is 20.
