American Grandparents Association Gets MADD and Joins the Fight Against Drunk Driving

New Partnership Enlists Grandparents to Support Mothers Against Drunk Driving to Keep Families Safe

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - December 09, 2014) - Grandparents.com (OTCQB: GPCM), the Trusted Resource for Grandparents™, and its membership organization, the American Grandparents Association, today announced that they have entered into a partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD), the nation's largest nonprofit organization working to protect and support families by preventing drunk driving and underage drinking.

Every two minutes, a person is injured in a drunk driving crash, and someone is killed by a drunk driver every 51 minutes. That means that each day in America, another 28 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes. Grandparents are often left behind to shoulder responsibility, sometimes even raising their grandchildren when a parent is killed by a drunk or drugged driver.

That's why the American Grandparents Association is joining forces with MADD to help eradicate these statistics for their next generation of loved ones. The American Grandparents Association will donate $5 of the $15 annual American Grandparents Association membership fee paid by new and renewing MADD donors and supporters who join to help MADD achieve its lifesaving mission.

"The American Grandparents Association and MADD share a singular commitment to health, well-being, and life-affirming choices and principles," said Steve Leber, Chairman and CEO of the American Grandparents Association and Grandparents.com. "We will work with MADD to enlist grandparents to support the organization to ensure the safety of every child and grandchild."

"As a grandmother, I fully intend to witness the end of drunk driving in my lifetime, for the sake of my grandchildren and others impacted by this 100 percent preventable crime," said Jan Withers, MADD National President, whose 15-year-old daughter was killed in a drunk driving crash. "MADD is privileged to work with the American Grandparents Association and we appreciate its support to helping us save lives and prevent injuries across the country."
