The American Institute of Architects, California Council, Announces Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, as the 2011 Firm Award Recipient

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - November 15, 2010) - The American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC) announces the 2011 Firm Award recipient, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), located in San Francisco. This award is the most significant honor awarded to a firm by The AIACC, and recognizes firms who have consistently produced distinguished architecture, contributing to the advancement of the profession in areas of design, research, planning, technology, preservation and innovation for a period of at least 10 years.

For nearly 65 years, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has made a positive impact on the physical, social, and cultural fabric of communities throughout California and around the globe, working collaboratively to achieve design excellence. SOM's practice is composed of architecture, structural engineering, urban design, interior design and environment graphics, with a mission to elevate the quality of design and innovation in the profession of architecture.
