American Lung Association Partners With Inspire to Support Lung Cancer Patients Online

PRINCETON, NJ--(Marketwired - August 19, 2015) - The American Lung Association has partnered with Inspire to support Inspire's leading online community for patients and caregivers affected by lung cancer.

"The American Lung Association is committed to helping those with lung cancer and their caregivers cope with the changes this disease brings," said American Lung Association National President and CEO Harold P. Wimmer. "We're proud to partner with Inspire to connect patients and their caregivers with support and resources during their journey."

The multi-pronged partnership will make the Inspire American Lung Association Lung Cancer Survivors Community, already the largest and most active online group for people affected by lung cancer with more than 40,000 members, an even stronger force in advancing medical progress and supporting lung cancer patients and their caregivers.

In 2014 alone, community members shared more than 125,000 posts including questions, information and support by and for patients and caregivers.

In addition to supporting people affected by lung cancer, the Lung Association will also partner with Inspire to support patients and caregivers affected by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other lung conditions through the Inspire Living with COPD Support Community and the Inspire Living with Lung Disease Support Community.

"We are thrilled to team with the American Lung Association," said Inspire CEO Brian Loew. "The Lung Association is known and respected for providing resources for people affected by lung disease, and they'll help Inspire accelerate medical progress in this crucial area."
