"It is essential that women physicians have a seat at the table and serve as champions in providing a voice to women's health care issues," said Dr. Janco. "As the WPS delegate, I look forward to being the representative in this arena to bring the critical challenges we face as women to the forefront and develop solutions to overcome them. I believe together, there are no limits to what the WPS can accomplish."
The AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) consists of the more than 67,000 female members of the AMA and aims to increase the number and influence of women physicians in leadership roles and to advocate for and advance the understanding of women's health issues. The WPS identifies issues and communicates through its network of WPS Liaisons, women leaders who have been identified by their state or specialty societies to serve in this position.
Dr. Janco is an anesthesiologist at North American Partners in Anesthesia. She received her M.D. from St. George's University and completed her anesthesia residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2012.
