American National Assisting Midwest Policyholders in Aftermath of Severe Spring Storms

American National has Mobilized Its Claims Team to Assist Policyholders Impacted by Storms That Struck Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Parts of Texas on April 26

SPRINGFIELD, MO--(Marketwired - April 27, 2016) - American National claims teams are on the ground to assist policyholders whose property sustained damage in the wake of the recent severe spring storms that impacted several areas in Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

For personalized service, policyholders can visit their local agent's office or call American National's 24-hour claims hotline at 1.800.333.2860. Those with access to a computer or smartphone can also report claims online through the "Client Services Online" feature of anpac.com or through the Insured2Go® app.

American National encourages those who incur property damage to wait to make repairs until an adjuster can complete a property inspection. If immediate action is absolutely necessary to prevent further damage, policyholders should make sure it's safe to make repairs and take time to thoroughly document the damage, including photographs or digital images whenever possible. All repair-related receipts should be saved so they can be included in claim reports. For those policyholders who sustain vehicle damage, appraisers will be available to assist with inspections.

Some cleanup efforts are already underway. American National wants to remind those involved with cleanup to exercise caution, since debris can create perils and hazards that may not be readily evident. Follow the directions of local authorities regarding accessibility to damaged areas. Visit anpac.com/cleanup for information about safe and effective cleanup strategies.

American National's website offers several informational resources that may be useful to policyholders dealing with the aftermath of weather events. Information specifically related to severe storm recovery can be found at anpac.com.
