WICHITA, KS--(Marketwire - Oct 15, 2012) - American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the NOS2-22 oil well in Payne County, Oklahoma successfully encountered oil filled pay in the primary Skinner Sand objective and will be completed and put into production at the end of October. Production casing has been run to depth in preparation for a planned frack with well completion scheduled to begin on or around October 24th.
This well offsets the NOS1-22 well, producing from the Skinner Sand since July of 2011, and the NOS2-22 is the second well drilled on the lease. The completion will involve a small frack procedure and the Company maintains its expectation of initial production (IP) guidance of 20 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) net to the Company's 50% working interest. As previously announced, an analog Skinner Sand field in the section due West of this drill site had several Skinner Sand wells with IPs of 50-70 BOPD with the best well in that section having a 120 BOPD IP.
The Company is also pleased to announce that it intends to drill its first horizontal Woodford Shale well in the fourth quarter to further increase production. As part of ongoing activities the Company aims to drill additional development wells on the Company's leases, including Skinner, Mississippi Lime, and Woodford Shale wells. The Company will report further results regarding the NOS2-22 well when made available from the field.
