American Petro-Hunter Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) Begins Horizontal Drilling Program in Search of 'Big Oil' in Oklahoma

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - May 17, 2011) - American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) announced yesterday that the company has begun drilling its first horizontal well in the Mississippi Formation in Northern Oklahoma.

Oklahoma has continued to be a focal point for big drilling. Some of the world's largest oil and gas producers like, Southwestern Energy (NYSE: SWN), Copano Energy, L.L.C. (NASDAQ: CPNO), and Occidental Petroleum Corp (NYSE: OXY) are drilling in the Oklahoma region. American Petro-Hunter is a fast growing E&P company with exceptional land holdings in the Oklahoma area.
