American Petro-Hunter Updates Progress at Kansas and Oklahoma Wells

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - July 8, 2010) -  American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the "Company") is pleased to update the progress of ongoing field activities at the Kansas based #3 Lutters completion program and in Oklahoma at the No. 1 and No. 2 wells.

The #3 Lutters at the Poston Prospect, in Trego County, Kansas has successfully been perforated and is now being swabbed in preparation for pump jack installation. The operator is confident that all tubing and pipe required to tie in the well should be fully installed by the middle of next week. As existing tanks and infrastructure are already in place, production is planned to commence next week and is anticipated to produce in the 80 to 100 BPD range.

At the North Oklahoma project, the No. 1 Well has successfully pumped back the entire frac fluid load and as of today the well has been tied in to the tank battery from the frac tanks. The gas lines have been connected and a gas sample has been provided to the purchaser. Over the next few days, the well will be monitored closely as to oil flow rates which will be stepped up as pressure builds. This being the first well in the program, the company and operator are proceeding cautiously in order to maintain reservoir integrity. As reported earlier, when the well was acidized, it was producing at 75 BPD rates. Now that the frac program is complete, the Company and engineers are confident that as soon as full flow rates are achieved, the well is anticipated to produce at initial rates in the 350 BPD range of high gravity light oil.

At the No. 2 Oklahoma well site, crews have completed the acidization of the 40 foot pay zone and engineers are currently reviewing the results in order to determine appropriate plans for the well. Recent heavy rains have caused flooding in Oklahoma which has slightly delayed activities on site and the Company will report progress as it becomes available from the operator.
