American River Bank Foundation Donates $100,000 to Eleven Northern California Non Profit Organizations


SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 30, 2014) - American River Bank, a subsidiary of American River Bankshares (NASDAQ: AMRB), today announced that the American River Bank Foundation (the "Foundation") has awarded $70,000 to nine organizations for a single year funding commitment and, combined with its two three-year funding commitments that were announced last year, the Foundation is donating a total of $100,000 to organizations in Northern California in 2014. Since 2004, the Foundation has donated $652,600 to 36 different organizations.

"Each year, we challenge ourselves to increase the impact from the American River Bank Foundation and that's why we're so pleased to be able to donate $100,000 to eleven different organizations," said David T. "From our employees to our golf tournament sponsors and all of our partners, we are grateful that so many came together to contribute financially to the community through the Foundation."

In 2013, American River Bank employees donated over $18,000 to the Foundation, 100% of which is matched by the Bank. Donations received by the Foundation are granted to community organizations as the Foundation is supported in whole by American River Bank, its employees and partners.

The Foundation's grant recipients are as follows:

  • Courage Worldwide will receive $15,000 in 2014, part of a three-year $50,000 commitment to provide services for minors who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation.
  • Legal Aid of Sonoma County will receive $15,000 in 2014, part of a three-year $50,000 commitment to fund the Child Abuse Prevention Program to prevent child abuse and neglect.
  • Sacramento Life Center will receive $15,000 to fund their second Mobile Medical Clinic, providing women of child bearing age with health exams, STD testing, education and treatment.
  • Operation Care will receive $10,000 to fund the Fresh Start Program so that women leaving the shelter may obtain housing.
  • St. John's Shelter for Women & Children will receive $10,000 to fund the Employment Readiness Program, which helps mothers prepare, gain and maintain employment.
  • Community Against Sexual Harm will receive $7,500 to support operational services that provide assistance to sexually exploited victims.
  • Child Advocates of Placer County will receive $7,500 to support the CASA and A2Y programs, both of which provide mentors to at-risk youth in the child welfare systems.
  • Senior Gleaners will receive $5,000 to fund the Children's Initiative, which addresses childhood poverty and hunger.
  • The Arc of Amador & Calaveras will receive $5,000 to fund the Building Self-Esteem Program that serves women with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • The Living Room will receive $5,000 to provide outdoor gear to homeless women.
  • Wellspring Women's Center will receive $5,000 to support the Women's Wellness Program, which provides counseling and assistance.
