American Sierra Gold Corp. Offers Corporate Update

RENO, NV--(Marketwire - September 23, 2009) - Rapidly increasing interest in gold has prompted American Sierra Gold Corp. (OTCBB: AMNP) (hereafter "American Sierra") to provide an update on its projects.

American Sierra Gold Corp., an independent gold exploration company headquartered in Reno, Nevada, is pleased to announce strategic exploration and potential development of North American properties is progressing ahead of schedule.

American Sierra currently has a 90% interest in 11 concessions covering 71,334 acres in the historically prolific Sierra Madre gold belt. American Sierra Gold's substantial land package, representing the largest under-explored acreage in the region, is encompassed as the Urique Project. There are multiple drill sites within 10 miles of producing mines owned by Gold Corp. American Sierra Gold's Urique Project lies directly north of the producing El Sauzel gold mine owned by Gold Corp. Glamis Gold originally discovered the El Sauzel mine prior to being acquired by Gold Corp. in an $8.6 Billion deal in 2006.

"We are committed in our exploration for the discovery of North America's next producing gold mine," stated Wayne Gruden, President and CEO of American Sierra Gold. "Our consistent focus will be exploring gold properties in North America, with a specific focus on American-based projects."
