AMERICAN SYSTEMS Nets SPAWAR Technical and Security Engineering Services Contract Worth $14.5 Million

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - September 21, 2009) - AMERICAN SYSTEMS, an IT solutions provider and one of the top 100 employee-owned companies in the U.S., today announced it was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at $14,487,126.31 to provide technical and security engineering services for the Space and Naval Warfare (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific. AMERICAN SYSTEMS will provide systems engineering, technical, managerial and logistics support, certification and accreditation and information assurance (IA)-related tasks in support of secure computer and network operations.

With more than 30 years of experience providing systems engineering and security services for some of the most complex government programs, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is uniquely suited to support the technical and security engineering needs of SSC Pacific.

Specifically, under the terms of the contract, the company will provide specialized security engineering services for architecture design, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) security product analysis and evaluation, product integration and implementation, user training and certification, and specialized networking configuration and maintenance support functions, including those for current and future security products used in Naval networks. Additionally, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will support integrated circuit design and testing for analog, digital and radio frequency applications.

The work will also include developing, implementing and testing computer network defense measures, improving wireless computing security, creating and maintaining cross domain solutions, system security and certification related testing and risk and vulnerability assessments.

Work under the contract, which has one five-year base period and four nine-month award term options for a ceiling value of $23,955,560.50, will be performed at AMERICAN SYSTEMS' facility in San Diego, and at government ship and shore facilities worldwide. The base period of performance is from Aug. 7, 2009 through Aug. 6, 2014.
