AMERICAN SYSTEMS to Support U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command Naval Ship Transfer and Repair Contract Worth up to $1.5 Billion

Engineering Solutions Provider to Support Maintenance for the International Fleet Support Program


CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - Apr 16, 2012) - AMERICAN SYSTEMS, a leading provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, today announced that it is part of the Naval Ship Transfer and Repair (N*STAR) team selected to support the Naval Sea Systems Command's (NAVSEA's) International Fleet Support Program. Under the Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract, which carries a ceiling of approximately $1.5 billion over five years, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will help to provide continuous lifecycle support to vessels bought, sold or transferred to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.

Under the terms of the contract, the N*STAR team will provide design support, configuration management, maintenance, engineering, training and depot-level repair to the International Fleet Support Program. These services will be provided for NAVSEA, the largest of the Navy's five systems commands, which is responsible for engineering, building, buying and maintaining ships, submarines and combat systems.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS joins subcontractors including Raytheon, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Thales Naval Inc., Lockheed Martin, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), BAE SYSTEMS and General Dynamics under the prime contractor, VSE Corporation, to perform tasks specified by the contract.

Work under the contract has one base year and four one-year options.
