American Web Loan(TM) and the Online Lenders Alliance Join to Warn Consumers Against American Web Loan Imposter Scams

American Web Loan™ and the Online Lenders Alliance Caution Against Imposters Claiming to Be Agents of American Web Loan; Consumers Should Work Solely With the Company's Official Website

WASHINGTON DC--(Marketwire - Sep 11, 2012) - American Web Loan™ (www.americanwebloan.com) and the Online Lenders Alliance (www.onlinelendersalliance.org) have joined to campaign against an 'American Web Loan Scam' where individuals and entities pose as agents of American Web Loan.

According to American Web Loan™ and Online Lenders Alliance (OLA) officials, there is an increasing number of fraudulent individuals or groups posing as online lending agents by creating false websites, advertisements and telephone campaigns that appear to be operated by American Web Loan™. American Web Loan and OLA are working together to warn consumers who might be taken in by imposter websites that seek to collect personal information in an attempt to commit fraud or other online scams.

OLA encourages consumers who feel they may have been the victim of an online scam to call the OLA Consumer Hotline at (866) 299-7585, a resource specifically created for consumers to report fraudulent websites or phone calls to a live trained operator. You may also file a complaint or get free information on consumer issues, at ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357).

"Although American Web Loan™ works diligently to identify and remove fake advertisements and misleading websites, it is vital consumers make certain they are on the company's actual website before entering any personal information on a form," said American Web Loan general manager Jamie Schumann.

For maximum safety, OLA and American Web Loan encourage consumers to log in to their account before applying and work solely with OLA-approved lending networks.
