Americans Against All Odds to Be Honored -- Battle of Bulge Veterans to Be Recognized by Congressman Steve Israel

Historian-Author Robert Mrazek Offers Keynote on American Courage in the Face of Hopeless Odds

FARMINGDALE, NY--(Marketwire - December 11, 2008) - On Saturday, December 13th, at 11:00 a.m., on the eve of the anniversary of the "Battle of the Bulge," and the deadliest winter ever faced by American forces during World War II, U.S. Congressman Steve Israel (D- 3rd C.D.) will ask veterans of that battle to step forward and be recognized at the American Airpower Museum at Republic Airport, 1230 New Highway, Farmingdale. He will be joined by historian and former Long Island Congressman Robert Mrazek, author of "A Dawn like Thunder," (Little, Brown) who will speak about American courage in the face of hopeless odds during the Battle of Midway and the annihilation of Torpedo Squadron 8.

What: Tribute to American soldiers overcoming hopeless odds, paying tribute to Battle of the Bulge veterans and honoring the lost US Naval aviators of Torpedo Squadron 8 during the Battle of Midway.
