America's Test Kitchen Adds Three to Management Team

BROOKLINE, MA--(Marketwired - Nov 12, 2015) -  The Board of Directors of Boston Common Press, the parent company of America's Test Kitchen, today announced that the company has appointed three key executives -- including its first Chief Digital Officer -- to its growing management team.

Reflecting the continued movement of media companies toward integrated digital platforms, Fran Middleton has been promoted to Chief Digital Officer. Middleton joined the company as Vice President of Digital Products in February 2014. In this expanded role, Middleton will build a digital roadmap for all online products related to America's Test Kitchen, Cook's Illustrated and Cook's Country, as well as new endeavors. He is responsible for the company's websites, including the newly relaunched Cook's Illustrated and the Cooking School. In addition to software development, he is responsible for digital design, product management, and eCommerce. Prior to joining America's Test Kitchen last year, Middleton was a vice president at Rue La La.

Jackie McCauley Ford will join the company on Dec. 1, as Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the executive management team, she will focus on leveraging growth opportunities and strategic partnerships. Ford joins America's Test Kitchen after serving as a Director of Corporate Finance Group, Inc., a financial consulting firm in Boston.

Colleen Zelina will join the company on Nov. 16, as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development. As the company continues to grow and evolve with the changing media landscape, Zelina will lead professional development initiatives for current staff and the onboarding of new employees. Zelina currently serves as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at ALM Media, LLC in New York.

America's Test Kitchen Chief Executive Officer David Nussbaum said, "This is a very exciting time for America's Test Kitchen, as we expand our platforms and add new staff, including these very talented members of our executive team. Nussbaum who was named ATK's first CEO this fall added, "Over time, our strategy will include launching new shows, updating web sites, expanding online education programs, and adding more social interaction on the company's websites."

Earlier this fall, the company also announced the promotion of Jack Bishop to Chief Creative Officer. In this role, Bishop, a long-time editor at America's Test Kitchen, is responsible for the creative strategy of the America's Test Kitchen television program, Cook's Illustrated magazine, Cook's Country magazine and television show, and America's Test Kitchen's digital and book content, as well as for new projects. The company plans to hire an additional 25 team members, to work in content, television production, and digital media, over the next six months.

America's Test Kitchen began with a single magazine title, Cook's Illustrated, which debuted in 1992. The America's Test Kitchen television show was launched in 2001, after which the company added Cook's Country magazine, a second television program, an online cooking school, three websites that offer recipes and online video, and a robust book program that publishes a dozen new titles a year, which regularly land on bestseller lists.
