AmericInn Announces It Is Founding Partner of "Hotels For Heroes" National Program; Enables Free Hotel Stays for Wounded Members of the U.S. Military and Their Families

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - Jul 17, 2012) - AmericInn, one of the nation's leading mid-scale hotel companies, today announced it is a founding partner in "Hotels For Heroes," a new nationwide program that provides free hotel stays for wounded U.S. troops and their families while they are receiving treatment. The program, which gives frequent travelers the option to donate their hotel guest loyalty points to "Hotels For Heroes," was launched today by government, military and foundation leaders at a special event in Washington, D.C.

"We are pleased to serve as a founding hotel industry partner in the "Hotels For Heroes" program, another demonstration of our on-going support for America's military," said Paul Kirwin, president and CEO of AmericInn. AmericInn hotels, operating or under development in 250 locations in 24 states, have a legacy of supporting the military with a variety of on-going special initiatives, regular donations and a national military discount program at all its locations.

The "Hotels For Heroes" program is being administered by the Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting America's wounded warriors, veterans and their families. The Fisher House will pool donations of AmericInn Easy Rewards points, along with donated points from other participating hotel companies, to provide free accommodations to wounded, injured or ill service members and their families while undergoing treatment at medical centers.

AmericInn customers can donate their Easy Rewards points to the "Hotels for Heroes" program by logging into their account and accessing the "redeem" and "donation" tabs.

Joining in the announcement of the "Hotels For Heroes" program were Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) and David Coker, president of Fisher House. Fisher House Foundation operates another travel industry initiative called "Hero Miles" which enables frequent fliers to donate their miles toward free airline tickets that are provided to wounded, injured or ill military members and their families.

AmericInn has been honored by the Department of Defense with two awards -- the "Seven Seals Award" and the "Above and Beyond Award" -- for its extensive programs of support for members of the military. AmericInn has designated military support and patriotism as a central part of its overall culture, focusing on the theme "AmericInn Cares." During the past year the company launched several major initiatives including preparing and shipping thousands of care packages to military troops stationed overseas plus preparing gift items, tote bags and bicycles for the families of military members.

AmericInn also offers a national discount on room rates to active duty and retired members of the military and their dependents. They can receive this discount by requesting the AmericInn Military Rate (rate code: MIL) when they make their reservation at a hotel, AmericInn.com or by calling the toll-free number: 800-634-3444.
