Amfeltec Corporation Extends Functionality of Universal In-Circuit Programmer "Easy Loader"

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 5, 2015) - Amfeltec Corporation, a leading provider of complex and innovative solutions for the world's diverse electronics markets, announced a versatility upgrade to its Universal In-Circuit Programmer: the Easy Loader. This device allows a company to eliminate the pre-programming task from the production phase.

Modern electronic products may easily incorporate multiple integrated circuits of various programming interfaces; the problem is that they all must be pre-programmed during production – before soldering. This causes unnecessary expenditure of time, budget and engineering resources. "Amfeltec's Universal In-Circuit Programmer, or 'Easy Loader', revolutionizes the way small-to-medium-size electronic design companies organize their production," says Amfeltec President and CTO Michael Feldman. Today's upgrade to the device allows you to use just one Easy Loader to sequentially program/load firmware to many target devices – all with different interfaces. The supported interface combinations are:

• JTAG and I2C
• JTAG and SPI
• JTAG and C2

Roughly the size of a flash memory stick, its handling is trouble-free. Once an engineer configures it, the Easy Loader can be operated even by someone of little to no knowledge of electronics: once configured (using a PC), the Easy Loader is simply connected to a target PCB, which is then programmed automatically. The device is stand-alone, and doesn't require a computer connection during normal operation.

In fact, the Easy Loader is so easy to use that Amfeltec's clients use the device not only in their production phase (which is now free of pre-programming), but actually use it for remote field upgrades – by shipping a single unit to their own customer (end-user). This is an additional money-saver: no engineer presence is required at the customer's location.
