AMI Resources Inc.: Diamond Drilling Continues to Intersect Significant Mineralization

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 3, 2008) - AMI Resources (TSX VENTURE:AMU) is pleased to announce additional significant intersections from the current diamond core drilling program within the North Ashanti Gold Project in Ghana, West Africa. Continuing on from January's significant, high-grade intersections, drilling completed during February 2008 has identified broad zones of mineralization in the three holes drilled:

08ANRD124 90 - 124m 34m @ 1.23 g/t

08ANRD132 160.3 - 180m 19.7m @ 1.71 g/t

08BPRD134 136.6 - 164.5m 28m @ 1.28 g/t

The current program of deeper diamond core drilling is targeting depth extensions to known mineralization within the Beposo Main Zone and the Anuoro North Zone. The Beposo holes are collared on 120 metre spaced sections and are expected to intersect mineralization 150 metres below surface. The third, fourth and fifth holes of this program have all intersected mineralization at targeted depths.

Hole 08ANRD124 targeted down dip extensions to recent RC drilling over the Anuoro North mineralized zone. The Anuoro North mineralized zone extends for a strike length of 600 metres and comprises a series of shallow dipping quartz veins stacked within a faulted portion of a granitic intrusion. This hole has confirmed the potential for a large tonnage, low-grade deposit within a non refractory granitic body at Anuoro North.

Hole 08PRD132 was drilled in December 2007 but due to poor ground conditions could not be completed before the Christmas break. This hole has since been extended to intersect its target depth. Significant gold mineralization was achieved at the target depth and also within the 'hangingwall' portion of the hole (10 metres at 1.22 g/t) as reported last month.

08BPRC134 targeted down dip extensions of previous RC drilling: 13m @ 2.73 g/t, 20m @ 1.51 g/t and 32m @ 1.41. The mineralized zone (28m @ 1.28 g/t) was intersected at its target depth.

These three holes from this round of diamond core drilling have produced highly encouraging intersections. A full list of results will be announced upon completion of the program.

The North Ashanti Gold Project straddles fifteen kilometres of the Ashanti Gold Belt and lies directly south of the Konongo Mining Lease, approximately twenty kilometres west of Newmont's Akyem deposit (17m Ozs) and fifty kilometres northeast of AngloGold Ashanti's Obuasi Mine (40m Ozs).
