Amicus on resignation of seventh non-executive director at the United Lincolnshire Hospital NHS Trust

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 30, 2006) - Amicus' response to news that a seventh non-Executive Director of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has resigned:

Nev Jackson, Amicus' Regional Secretary for the East Midlands said:

"This is a very sad situation but we believe that all the director's positions had been made untenable by the Trust's performance which has been marred by debt problems, accusations of bullying and the unacceptable way the trust has handled waiting lists.

"We hope that the appointment of a new Chairman and non-executive directors can ensure a fresh start and improved performance by the Trust which staff and patients deserve."
