Amicus reaction to Sellafield body part claims

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - April 18, 2007) - Amicus' National Officer for the Energy industry, Dougie Rooney, said: "Amicus' first concern is for the relatives and friends who will be very distressed as a consequence of the disclosure today. I understand that the Secretary of State is due to make a statement today in which he will announce that a QC is to lead an independent investigation into the claims. Amicus would welcome this decision and would expect to be able to make representations to this investigation. We would call on the government to ensure that all the findings and recommendations are made public.

"We will not be seeking to make any press capital out of these claims, our immediate concern is that all the families involved are able to find out exactly what happened to their loved ones."
