Amicus reaction to WH Smith and Post Office deal

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - April 19, 2007) - Amicus' National Officer, Ann Field, said.
"The company seems to be giving up on being an active retailer of newspapers and trying their hand at playing at Postman Pat. It's an appalling move and will be funded, in part no doubt, by not only the efforts of their lowly paid workers but the savings they are making by the destruction of those same workers' pensions."

"We are continuing to make representations to the company over their recent decision to scrap their long-established final salary scheme with inferior terms in a money purchase plan."
