AMIMON and LG Innotek Showcase WHDI Stick at CES

WHDI Provides a High Quality HD Wireless Connection From the Notebook PC to the TV; Consumers Can Now Access All Content and Interactive Applications on Their TV

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - January 4, 2011) - CES -- AMIMON, the market leader in wireless HDTV semiconductor solutions, and LG Innotek, a world leader module maker, today announced a Notebook-to-TV HD wireless Stick featuring the WHDI™ (Wireless Home Digital Interface™) technology. The Stick showcases the ability to embed and integrate the WHDI technology into sleek and small consumer electronic devices.

LG Innotek's WHDI Stick features AMIMON's WHDI chipset and will be compliant with the WHDI standard. The Stick is designed in a compact form-factor and with low power consumption; it can be connected to any Notebook PC with an HDMI port. With WHDI, consumers can connect sources and displays throughout the home to access all of their video and interactive content. Consumers just need to look for the WHDI logo to ensure that all of their devices will be able to work together.

Notebook PCs equipped with the WHDI Stick enable users to wirelessly view all of the Notebook's content on their TVs without the limitations of other solutions. With virtually no latency (less than one millisecond) users can now leverage a Notebook's interactive capabilities, content and play their PC games on the "big screen." Also, via LG Innotek's WHDI Stick users can surf the web and watch internet video on their TVs. In addition to all other content, WHDI security and HDCP 2.0 copy protection allow users to bring Blu-ray movies and other copy-protected content to the HDTV.

AMIMON and LG Innotek will showcase the Stick at the 2011 International CES show, which runs January 6-9 in Las Vegas in AMIMON's suite, No. 23121, at the Las Vegas Hilton and at the LG Innotek show room, Titian Ballroom No. 2301B & 2302, Venetian Hotel.

The WHDI Stick is the latest offering coming from LG Innotek's WHDI product line. In addition LG Innotek offers WHDI modules for wireless TVs as well as wireless home theatre adapters. Also, LG Innotek is developing new WHDI solutions for mobile devices.

"WHDI's ability to deliver robust high quality HD video in small form factor and low power consumption make it ideal for portable and mobile devices," said Kilsang Park, vice president of LG Innotek. "Consumers want to access all the cool interactive content and applications on Notebooks on their big screen TV anywhere in the home."

"The WHDI technology is the only solution that provides low latency and seamless wireless connection so consumers can take advantage of all interactive content and applications on Notebooks," said Noam Geri, vice president of strategic marketing and business development for AMIMON. "Consumers expect a wireless connection from a Notebook to a TV to be lag free and reliable; WHDI is the only wireless technology that delivers this performance."

AMIMON's wireless technology is the basis of the WHDI™ (Wireless Home Digital Interface™) standard. The WHDI standard delivers the highest image quality for in-room and multi-room HD wireless connections, including uncompressed 1080p/60Hz HD video. WHDI utilizes a 40MHz channel in the 5GHz unlicensed band. WHDI includes support for all 3D formats required by the HDMI™ 1.4a specification and range of over 100 feet (30 meters) through obstacles and walls. WHDI supports HDCP revision 2.0, providing superior security and digital content protection, and full compatibility with HDMI.
