Amlan International to Present New Endotoxin Binding Research at Symposium on Gut Health

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 11, 2013) - Dr. Chris Ching, Technical Research Manager for Amlan International, will present a poster entitled, In Vitro Binding of Lipopolysaccharide by Activated Calcium Montmorillonite (Calibrin-Z), at the Symposium on Gut Health in Production of Food Animals, November 11-13, 2013 in Kansas City, Missouri.

"Concern for optimal gut function and gut integrity in livestock is of great importance to producers because of the significance the intestinal tract plays in health and productivity," said Dr. Ching. "When the gut wall is compromised and endotoxins enter the bloodstream, the chances of poor performance and a negative immune system response increase considerably. This research shows that Calibrin-Z binds LPS endotoxin. Livestock producers who use this activated toxin binder have a greater opportunity to achieve peak operational performance because of its natural affinity to bind multiple toxins."

The Symposium on Gut Health in Production of Food Animals is a three-day forum on the role of good health in animal production and the dynamic and essential role the gut plays in it. The symposium will include all species in animal agriculture and cover different aspects of the gut and important factors in gut health maintenance and disease.

Amlan International sells disease management solutions that help livestock producers achieve peak performance in their operations. Calibrin-Z broad spectrum toxin binder is the company's breakthrough product for bacterial and fungal toxins control for improved performance in livestock.

Amlan International, the animal health division of Oil-Dri Corporation of America, develops and markets disease management solutions for the animal health and nutrition global livestock market.
