Anapol Schwartz Lawyer Raises Awareness in PA and MD During Distracted Driving Awareness Month

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwired - Apr 7, 2015) - Anapol Schwartz Shareholder and End Distracted Driving ( Founder Joel Feldman, armed with an alarming new AAA report that reveals statistics involving teen driver safety, is traveling with a powerful weapon against distracted driving throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland during Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

The report, entitled "Environmental Factors and Driver Behaviors in Teen Driver Crashes," provides data from crashes captured on in-vehicle video camera systems. According to the findings, teenagers have the highest crash rate of any group in the U.S., and 58 percent of teen crashes involve driver distraction.* Of those collisions involving inattentive drivers, 44 percent lost control of their vehicles, 89 percent departed from the road, 76 percent were involved in rear-end crashes, and 51 percent were involved in angle crashes.

As a leader in the fight against distracted driving, Feldman has gained a thorough understanding of the consequences of these numbers. After his daughter Casey was killed by a distracted driver in 2009, he used the perspectives of doctors, teen experts and psychologists to create a highly effective, scientifically-based distracted driving presentation. The campaign, which aims to "preserve life and promote safety on a large scale through advocacy, education, and action," has since reached more than 250,000 teens from across the U.S. and Canada.**

"The time is now to work to protect our children," Feldman said. "It is our duty as parents and members of the community."

Feldman's schedule of presentations during Distracted Driving Awareness Month include two states that AAA has identified as needing to strengthen passenger restriction laws for novice teen drivers.***
