Anchor Intelligence Publishes Click Fraud Glossary in Conjunction With eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit to Bring Clarity to Traffic Quality and Fraud Issues Impacting Online Advertising

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - May 4, 2009) - In the spirit of continuing the industry-wide collaboration occurring at the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit this week in San Jose, the leading traffic quality solutions provider, Anchor Intelligence, released the Anchor Intelligence Click Fraud Glossary explaining the tools, methods, and actors involved in click fraud and malicious attacks on advertising inventory. The Click Fraud Glossary is issued in partnership with Burst Media, LookSmart, GenieKnows, and AdEngage.

Anchor Intelligence compiled the top terms surrounding click fraud and their industry-accepted definitions into one convenient location for companies and individuals seeking a comprehensive understanding of click fraud and other malicious attacks. These definitions are the latest addition to Anchor Intelligence's ongoing work to educate the online advertising industry on issues pertaining to click fraud and traffic quality while establishing a standardized set of terminology and metrics. This announcement follows the IAB's release of the click measurement guidelines for public comment.

Ken Miller, CEO of Anchor Intelligence, recognizes the need for a standardized set of definitions to drive collaboration within the industry to combat click fraud and improve traffic quality. "By explaining and clarifying terminology, the Anchor Intelligence Click Fraud Glossary will reduce confusion and move towards a standard set of definitions to facilitate constructive dialogue around this important issue," he said.

"Anchor Intelligence's work on the Click Fraud Glossary represents an important move towards establishing industry standards and practices around click fraud," said Jim Sterne, founder of the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit and chairman of the Web Analytics Association. "As we've already seen in the Web analytics space, the establishment of a standardized set of terms and definitions enables interested parties to speak the same language when analyzing data and sharing best practices."

"I applaud Anchor Intelligence for providing guidance regarding click fraud, non-billable traffic, and other terms pertaining to malicious attacks on advertising inventory," said Eric Peterson, CEO at Web Analytics Demystified, Inc. "This glossary represents a great first step towards enabling clear, collective communication about the issue across the advertising industry."
