SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 14, 2011) - Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air joins KFMB TV8, Jack FM and Flagship Cruises as the presenting sponsor of Bras Across the Bay, the October 1 fundraiser for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The event will kick off breast cancer awareness month and the final stretch to the Race for the Cure. Bras Across the Bay will feature a special musical performance by Bushwalla, a live artist painting of breast cancer survivors by Sharif I. Carter, a fine art bra auction, pink specialty cocktails, and delicious food all during a beautiful sunset on the San Diego Bay.
A portion of the $35 ticket price will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, San Diego to support its mission to support women in having access to healthcare no matter who they are. Komen Seventy-five percent of every dollar raised through affiliate-sponsored events stays right here in San Diego County to fund services and treatments for uninsured and underinsured women and their families.
As a special incentive, Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air will provide each guest with a $50 gift certificate toward Anderson's services. "It's a great idea for a party and we're very pleased to be a part of this event," said Mary Jean Anderson, president of Anderson Plumbing Heating & Air. "Our commitment to Komen is called Operation Pink Ribbon. We're preparing for the Walk in November, doing fundraisers and every Friday at Anderson is 'Find a Cure Friday.' For every appointment booked on Fridays, we make a donation to Komen," added Anderson.
