Firm Notes Ties to Dallas Business and Community Landscape

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - February 20, 2008) - The Dallas office of Andrews Kurth LLP will celebrate more than a quarter century of work for businesses in North Texas and around the state with a party for attorneys, clients and invited guests on Feb. 22, 2008, at The Apartment in Dallas.

Andrews Kurth, a business law firm with offices around the world, opened its doors in Dallas on April 1, 1982 with just five attorneys. Today, there are approximately 90 attorneys working in the Dallas office.

Clients and notable initiatives in which the office has played a role include:

--  American Airlines - negotiated the agreement for American to provide
    the self-service check-in kiosks that have become an everyday part of
--  Northpark Center - assisted in the financing for Northpark's
--  DFW Airport - defended the Wright Amendment compromise legislation
    against federal antitrust claims; and
--  Real Estate - involved in various aspects of work on Dallas landmarks
    such as West Village, The Galleria, One Main Place and other major

In 2004, Andrews Kurth represented Zale Lipshy University Hospital and St. Paul University Hospital in their sale to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. The Dallas Business Journal recognized the deal as the "Best Nonprofit Deal" of the year.
