Anglia Business Solutions Improves Produce Quality for Customers With Socket Mobile Bluetooth Scanners and Apple Approved App

NEWARK, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 18, 2012) - Socket Mobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), an innovative provider of mobile productivity solutions, today announce a new technology partnership with Anglia Business Solutions -- a worldwide software and IT consultancy with extensive supply chain expertise -- to integrate Socket's Bluetooth Cordless Hand Scanner (CHS) into Anglia's LINKFresh Cloud Quality Assurance (QA) Application.

The award-winning LINKFresh application enables food industry professionals to monitor order processing, purchasing, production, distribution, logistics and finance all in one application and in real time, reducing waste and increasing profitability. LINKFresh is already used by many leading food suppliers such as Produce World, Branston, Hilton Food Group, Vestey Foods and 2 Sisters Food Group in the UK as well as The Giumarra Companies in the USA and L H Gray & Sons in Canada.

The Socket barcode scanners will be used with the Quality Assurance Application on the LINKFresh Cloud, which allows customers to conduct quality assurance tests on site and in the field using an Apple iPhone or iPad. Thus, allowing the delivery of high quality produce in shorter times and at reduced prices.

"We chose the Socket Mobile scanner for a variety of reasons," said Richard Jones, director of technology at Anglia. "In addition to previous experience implementing Socket's devices, we liked that many of their scanners are already certified through Apple's Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod (MFi) program. This had an obvious advantage over competitor devices which just emulate the keyboard. It also means that when we go-to market via Apple's App store there is a three way implicit trust that our solution works great on the iPhone/iPad and that it conforms to the high quality software standards imposed not only by Apple but also Socket Mobile."

"Integrating our LINKFresh QA application with Socket Mobile's scanners was very straightforward," continued Jones. "Socket provided us with a very comprehensive Software Developers Kit (SDK) to assist with the integration. We achieved the whole integration piece using the Socket SDK in about two hours. It's fast and very reliable."

Commenting on the new Partnership, Tim Miller, chief operating officer at Socket Mobile, said, "We are pleased that Anglia has chosen our cordless hand scanner for their LINKFresh QA application. In addition to being Apple certified, our scanners are lightweight, ergonomic, and easy-to-use, making them the ideal companion for the Apple iPad, iPhone, or iPod. As more and more industries are turning toward iOS solutions, we expect to see the CHS integrated into a wide variety of innovative enterprise applications."

The LINKFresh Cloud QA Application has recently been approved by Apple and is available to download from the iTunes App Store.
