Angstrom Microsystems Corp.™ Announces New Blades Powered by the Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ Processor

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - August 18, 2008) - Angstrom Microsystems Corp. (OTCBB: AGMS), a green computing solutions company, is announcing its first quad-core blade server, which is powered by energy efficient Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors. These blade servers can be easily racked, providing a super high density of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor-based servers in a rack -- 520 cores in 65 blades.

Angstrom Microsystems specializes in Green Computing solutions, providing blade servers and workstations uniquely designed for the high performance computing industry. With both hardware and software solutions to reduce the power needed to drive computing, Angstrom reduces the number of machines required to facilitate these tasks, thereby saving companies significant investments into additional servers while at the same time reducing the energy required to run them.

"Angstrom's compute-hungry customers are looking forward to taking full advantage of AMD's (NYSE: AMD) native Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors in extremely dense, cluster-friendly form factors available today," said Lalit Jain, CEO of Angstrom Microsystems. "With our patent-pending Green technologies, Angstrom enables scaling of high volume deployments with the fastest processors AMD has to offer."

A Titan64 SuperBlade rack is comprised of five stacked nests, with each nest housing 13 SuperBlades for a total of 5 x 13 blade, or 65 blades. Each blade is a two-processor cache coherent, shared memory (SMP) system with the option of 2 SATA-II HDDs and high-speed interconnects such as Infiniband or Infinipath.

"By incorporating the Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor into their latest blade servers, Angstrom has furthered its commitment to delivering the high-performing, energy-efficient systems to its customers," said Patrick Patla, director, Server and Workstation Business, AMD. "Titan64 SuperBlade servers combine the outstanding performance and overall system efficiency of Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors with Angstrom's innovative cooling technology, ultimately delivering powerful, energy saving solutions to customers."
