Animas Resources Obtains Services of John Reynolds of Durango Geophysical Operations

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 15, 2007) - The Board of Directors of Animas Resources (TSX VENTURE:ANI) is pleased to announce that Animas has signed a long term agreement with Mr. John R. Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds is committed to and is responsible for the completion of both the design and implementation of the geophysical program as well as leading the data recovery and GIS data management from previous work.

Mr. Reynolds is a geologist and geophysicist with over thirty-five years of hands-on experience using a variety of geophysical methods to explore for, image and discover mineral resources. He has managed successful operations on five continents under a myriad of field conditions. Mr. Reynolds participated in numerous successful exploration programs, including Boa Esperanza in Brazil, Paredones Amarillos gold project in Baja California Sur, Mexico, and extensive porphyry copper exploration in the U.S. and Mexico. His clients have included Phelps Dodge Corporation, Codelco do Brasil, Rio Tinto/Kennecott and numerous exploration companies.

"I am excited to be able to consolidate the past data on the Santa Gertrudis mines in light of the higher gold price today along with leading the geophysical program to identify new, near-surface ore as well as previously ignored sulfide zones. I am committed to this project as I have long held the belief that the true potential of the Santa Teresa district is quite significant," commented Mr. Reynolds.

"John's exceptional experience and passion for discovery is a welcome addition to Animas Resources. John worked on Santa Gertrudis before and carries with him a strong belief that the district is wide open for new ideas and the application of good geologic and geophysical programs. He does what it takes and only what works, a trait cornerstone to our success," commented G.E. McKelvey, President of Animas Resources.

About Animas Resources

Animas Resources, a North American mineral resource company focused on acquisition and discovery in Latin America, has re-consolidated the Santa Teresa District's Santa Gertrudis gold deposits and prospects within a 125 square mile land holding. The Company also has an option to acquire the Shirley exploration concession in the Bacanuchi area of Northern Mexico.

The Santa Gertrudis Gold Project (the "SG Property"), located 180 km north of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, was discovered by Phelps Dodge ("PD") in 1986 and advanced to open-pit, heap-leach production in 1991. It produced 564,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 2.13 grams per tonne from a mine commissioned to start with 1.2 million ounces. Animas Resources has re-consolidated the area which will allow for a district-wide exploration program. Other mineral properties that are part of the SG Property package include the relatively high-grade Amelia Mine and recently staked ground to the west, northwest and southeast of the SG Project's historic workings. The Company will own directly, or have options to earn-in on, a combined holding of approximately 32,600 hectares in the SG Property (125 square miles).

The Shirley concession located in the Bacanuchi area in northern Sonora, Mexico covers a highly prospective color anomaly likely caused by hydrothermal alteration and oxidization of sulfide minerals exposed to surface weathering.
