Anixter Center's Annual Benefit for Ability, Soaring to Success

"Empowerment through Employment" Event Honors Comcast Corporation

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - March 16, 2015) - Anixter Center is hosting its annual Benefit for Ability, Soaring to Success. David Doebler, president and general manager, NBC5 Chicago will chair the April 30th evening event which will feature dinner, networking and entertainment.

"Empowerment through Employment" is the theme of this year's Benefit which will support Anixter Center's mission of helping people with disabilities and related challenges live, learn, work and play in the community.

"The Soaring to Success event not only helps fund the important work that we do year round, it unites many facets of Anixter Center's community for the evening and introduces new potential participants and volunteers to the cause," said Kevin Limbeck, president and CEO of Anixter Center. "We help our clients live full lives, which is more than just a paycheck or a place to visit. They gain their rightful place in society and we are honored to help facilitate that process." 

This year's Benefit will honor Comcast Corporation for its commitment to supporting empowerment through employment for people of all abilities. For more than 13 years, Comcast has been a loyal client of Anixter Center's Packaging Services, providing contractual work that has employed up to 200 people with disabilities in Chicago each day. On a national scale, at locations across the country, Comcast is committed to supporting empowerment through employment for people of all abilities, recognizing the incredible value of a diverse workforce. Matt Summy, Vice President of External & Government Affairs, Comcast, will be accepting the award on behalf of Comcast.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Hall at Union Station, 500 West Jackson Blvd., Chicago, Illinois. Tickets are $350 per person. Sponsorship opportunities range from $5,000 to $25,000 and can be tailored to a sponsor's needs.
