Anoto Group AB Awarded 5,000 Digital Pen Technology Order From Adapx

U.S. Military and Commercial Organizations Achieve Reliable and Comprehensive Communication of Business- or Mission-Critical Field Data

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - September 24, 2007) - Anoto Group AB, the inventor of the Anoto Digital Pen and Paper technology, announced its partner, Seattle-based Adapx, has placed a significant order of 5,000 units of Anoto digital pens. The order has been placed with Anoto pen manufacturing partner, Maxell. Licenses and subsequent revenues to Anoto will be dispersed and collected over the next 12 months.

Adapx incorporates Anoto digital pen and paper technology within its Capturx™ system for field data collection. Primarily used by organizations that rely on communications from personnel in the field, Capturx (pronounced "captures") digitally enables the mode of data collection, including pen notations on maps and journals. The Anoto Digital Pen component of Capturx allows users to adapt to new tools without any training and acclimates to existing behaviour. It enables field workers to perform their tasks without changing their business processes or replacing existing tools. Capturx has been adopted by both U.S. military and commercial organizations to ensure reliable and comprehensive communication of business- or mission-critical field data.

"Building on our existing successes using Anoto digital pen and paper technology, this surge in orders comes as a result of Adapx's recent introduction of Capturx integrations, making field data immediately available within our customers' local applications," said Adapx CEO, Ken Schneider. "Specifically, Capturx for ESRI® ArcGIS 9.2 mapping software was launched in June at ESRI's user conference and was enthusiastically received by some 16,000 attendees. Both the interest level and number of leads generated at that event point to significant sales over the next twelve months. Additionally, Capturx built for Microsoft OneNote 2007 offers searchable notes, archiving, and functionality to convert handwritten to typewritten text," continued Schneider. "Adapx will continue to grow its customer base with these and other highly tailored field data collection systems for additional sectors."

"We are very happy to announce this significant Anoto pen order in the U.S. to date," said Anders Norling, CEO of Anoto Group AB. "We are seeing new innovative solutions in the Forms Solution sector with such wins in military and commercial organizations as well as strategic partnerships with industry leaders that are opening up new markets such as government, healthcare, pharmaceutical and medical to name a few."

Anoto's solution that is integrated within the Capturx system is transforming the way users interact with technology by innovating human-centered systems that improves the mobility, simplicity, accuracy, speed, reliability and intelligibility of information capture and communication.

In addition, Capturx can integrate with virtually any Windows-based software application. Adapx APIs are available for custom development.
