Anthem Properties Acquires Millwoods Mainstreet Shopping Centre

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 4, 2011) - Anthem Properties announces the acquisition of Millwoods Mainstreet Shopping Centre in Southeast Edmonton.

Millwoods Mainstreet is a well-located 140,000 square foot shopping centre immediately north Millwoods Town Centre at the corner of 66th Street NW and 28th Avenue NW. Anchored by a Sobeys food store, it is within walking distance of the Grey Nuns Hospital and at the crossroads of proposed major transit improvements.

Anthem completed a major renovation and revitalization of North Town Centre in northeast Edmonton in 2009 to create a new shopping experience anchored by London Drugs, T&T Supermarket, Indigo Books and Bed, Bath & Beyond's first Western Canadian store. "We have identified some re-merchandising opportunities for Millwoods Mainstreet and are actively moving forward with those plans," says Bob Tattle, Vice President Business Development.

Anthem Properties also acquired the former Molson Brewery site in the Oliver neighbourhood of Edmonton 2010. The initial vision for this site, located at 104th Avenue NW and 121st Street NW, is a mix of medium-density multi-family residential and neighbourhood retail uses.
