NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - November 09, 2016) - The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority New York Office is the proud recipient of the Gold Award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign for their "Get to Happy," campaign at the 2016 MarCom Awards, administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The MarCom Awards is an international creative awards competition that recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals.
The winning campaign which ran during the months of May to August this summer enticed consumers to "Get to Happy" in Antigua and Barbuda by highlighting the destination's most "happy" attributes. The premise of the campaign was based on statistical evidence that proved positive vacations led to more happiness. The campaign also signified the first digital push to be undertaken by the Authority and focused on digital advertising online and on social media. The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Approximately 24 percent were Gold Winners. Included in this prestige winners circle are companies such as BET Networks, Bloomberg Media, Deloitte, IBM, Con Edison, Honda and Johnson & Johnson.

The "Get to Happy" campaign which also received Honorable Mention in the Digital Marketing category was spearheaded by Public Relations and Marketing Communications Manager, Shermain Jeremy with the support of the Marketing, Sales and the Antigua and Barbuda Digital Platform.
MarCom entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were over 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and 17 other countries in the MarCom Awards 2016 competition. Being a Gold Winner is a tremendous achievement and the MarCom statuette graces the trophy cases of some of the top business and communication firms in the world.
