AnyMeeting Releases Meeting 4.0, the Next Generation of Its Core Web Conferencing Platform

Advanced New Features Leverage WebRTC to Create an Almost In-Person Online Meeting Experience That Requires No Downloads

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA--(Marketwired - August 31, 2016) - AnyMeeting, a leading provider of webinar and web conferencing solutions for small businesses, today announced the release of Meeting 4.0 -- the next generation of the AnyMeeting web conferencing platform. This release includes a completely refreshed user interface, built on full WebRTC audio and video capabilities, 720p HD video conferencing, brand new iOS and Android mobile apps, and a more natural and engaging paradigm for online meeting participation that incorporates rich attendee profiles based on social media information, emojis, and more.

"Creating the next generation of our web conferencing platform was a very large undertaking, but we wanted to capitalize on our many years of experience and create an even more natural online meeting and collaboration experience. In addition to delivering rich new video and audio capabilities, we wanted to democratize the online meeting and make it more like like an in-person meeting, where we can rely on social cues and natural interactions to drive conversation and collaboration. This means more freedom over muting controls, sharing controls and a better sense of who did what in the meeting," said Costin Tuculescu, CEO & founder of AnyMeeting.

This new release is now available on all market leading web browsers, and is fully supported on all tablet and smartphone devices, including iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Android tablets. On the web, Meeting 4.0 now provides 720p HD video for meeting hosts and up to 5 other video participants, with highly improved picture quality, as well as HD quality audio at 48kHz. Mobile attendees are also able to experience HD audio and video, as well as chat capabilities and note taking.

Upgrades to video and file sharing include the ability to upload videos directly to AnyMeeting (vs. the previous YouTube limitation) and play, pause and seek videos in real time during meetings. Attendees on the phone can also hear the audio from the video, which is a new feature. Videos played during the meeting can now also be fully recorded, with playback seamlessly incorporated into the meeting recording. Attendees can also upload presentations and videos and share them as easily as a meeting host can. Finally, to facilitate all of these new sharing capabilities, AnyMeeting has increased its content library to 1 GB of storage for presentation files and videos.

The new platform also facilitates more personal and natural interactions between attendees. Meeting attendees images will automatically populate with the help of Gravatar.com. Additionally, hosts with Pro subscriptions can click on any attendee's name to view additional social media information, such as location, Company, Job Title, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter profiles, if available.

AnyMeeting's in-meeting chat feature now contains 868 unique emojis, images of each person chatting, and the opportunity for everyone to keep track of meeting actions such as muting, content sharing. Attendees will be able to clearly see who started sharing content, who muted others or who muted the entire group, for example. The chat function also provides the place to download files that have been shared during the meeting.

Behind the simple user interface and intuitive controls, the technology powering Meeting 4.0 is very modern and sophisticated. Leveraging an entire WebRTC based stack, customers using browsers like Chrome and Firefox are able to experience very high quality video and audio, without any downloads, software installations or plugins. Additionally, Meeting 4.0 overcomes the traditional limits of WebRTC peer-to-peer technology through a robust server-side infrastructure that provides video and audio mixing to ensure every attendee has a consistently great experience, even as the number of meeting attendees grows. Legacy browsers (IE and Safari) are also able to participate in meetings through a Flash-based fallback that lets them see video, but they must dial-in to the conference call for audio.

AnyMeeting strives to constantly innovate and provide technology that continuously improves the ease and affordability of the highest quality online meetings and webinars. Meeting 4.0's intuitive and social approach to communication and collaboration facilitates an easy and natural way for participants to interact that improves the effectiveness and productivity of online meetings.
