AnythingIT, Inc. to Fund Veterans Workforce Development Program
Strategic Alliance Will Provide Technology and Create Jobs for Returning Veterans in the E-Waste Industry
FAIR LAWN, NJ--(Marketwire - January 12, 2011) - AnythingIT, entering its 19th year of business as one of the most experienced IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), Recovery & E-Waste handlers for both Government and Commercial markets, announces its partnership with Work Vessels for Veterans (WVFV), a non-for profit volunteer organization to put laptop computers into the hands of US Veterans that are continuing their pursuits of an education.

To date, with support from AnythingIT, WVFV has been able to cover 200 Veterans back to school equipped with a laptop computer. AnythingIT and WVFV, in a concerted effort, have pledged to increase that number by 20% or higher by the end of 2011.

About Work Vessels for Veterans
Founded in 2008, with the gift of a fishing boat that began a commercial fishing career for a returning Iraq Veteran, Work Vessels for Veterans, www.wvfv.org, is an all-volunteer movement assisting returning military personnel to begin their civilian careers or educational pursuits by acquiring and distributing the necessary start-up tools (e.g. laptops, vehicles, machinery, tools, commercial vessels etc.) There are no salaries drawn by any member of WVFV and overhead is strategically kept to a minimum, assuring the funding and products donated are getting disbursed directly to the Veterans.
The WVFV foundation has expanded its outreach to other industries to assist our returning military as it currently developing relationships in many industry sectors to secure necessary products for distribution. All donations of products or services are directly distributed to Veterans and all financial contributions are used to acquire, prepare or enhance those items to be gifted. Laptops have been distributed directly to individual Veterans throughout the country as well as to Veterans in transitional housing facilities run by the VA and Walter Reed Hospital.
