Apexon Named One of "10 Companies to Watch" by Managing Automation Magazine

SAN JOSE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- September 11, 2006 -- Apexon, a leading provider of active supply management solutions for manufacturing, today announced that the company has been selected by the editors of Managing Automation as one of the "10 Companies to Watch" in 2007.

The editors of Managing Automation, an integrated media resource for business and technology decision makers in manufacturing, sifted through technology companies and products that came to their attention over the past year -- many of which were relatively new to the scene and have innovated in some way -- and selected 10 whose stories they found interesting for their second-annual "Companies to Watch" issue (September 2006).

"It is an honor to be recognized by Managing Automation in their annual 'Companies to Watch' issue," said Emily Liggett, president and CEO of Apexon. "It's great to know that the editors share our view that manufacturers need to proactively manage their supply base to be competitive and to mitigate some of the risks associated with increasingly complex supply networks."

Earlier this year, Apexon unveiled the first active supply management suite that links data (such as performance metrics) with the ability to initiate and track activities between supply managers and their high impact suppliers.

"Apexon gives manufacturers a clean way to get a handle on who's in their supply base and how well they're performing," says Mark Hillman, a senior analyst at AMR Research in Boston. "Getting that kind of visibility is critical right now at a time when manufacturers are more sensitive than ever about dealing with supply chain risk."
