Apigee Appoints Steve Rowland Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Enterprise Software Veteran to Drive Apigee's Global Expansion as It Meets Strong Demand for APIs

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - Apigee, the API company, today announced that Steve Rowland, a veteran of global technology sales, has joined the company's management team as vice president of worldwide sales. Rowland is responsible for driving and managing the global expansion of Apigee's leading API platform as the company meets increasing demand for APIs in the burgeoning "app economy."

Rowland comes to Apigee with more than 20 years of sales and executive management experience. Prior to joining Apigee, he was at Blue Coat Systems, where he led sales as vice president of field operations for regions including the Americas, Asia Pacific and Japan. Previously, Rowland served as senior vice president of worldwide sales at Workbrain Corporation, which was sold to Infor Global Solutions in 2007. He also spent eight years at BMC Software, where his last role was vice president of sales; he also held sales management positions at Carrier Corporation, a division of United Technologies Corporation.

Apigee recently announced the completion of a $20 million round of funding. It also announced last month that is has acquired WAC (Wholesale Applications Community) to deliver a unified network API service for telecommunications operators. Through a global partnership with the GSMA, Apigee will provide these services to the nearly 800 GSMA mobile operator members.
