Appalaches Resources Inc.: Strategic Acquisition in the Godbout Uranium Area

RIMOUSKI, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2007) - Ressources Appalaches (TSX VENTURE:APP) now controls half of the mineral rights covering the recent uranium discoveries in the Godbout region on Quebec's North Shore. By this way, the Ashini property has been enlarged by 40 claims over a length of 25 kilometres, so as to cover 50% of a geological structure associated with uranium showings.

The arc-shaped structure extends over a length of some 50 kilometres and is marked by a strong magnetic signature and a change in lithology. Seven uranium showings are currently known in the vicinity of this structure, including four new prospects discovered this summer by Appalaches with grades ranging from 0.04 to 0.22% uranium.

The discovery of new uranium showings, the recent staking activity, and the announcement of a drill campaign by another company to the south of the property have encouraged Appalaches to strengthen its position in the Godbout region. The other claims are held by various companies and by prospectors.

The company is presently planning a work program that will include a radiometric survey, overburden stripping, and drilling, scheduled to begin as soon as the snow melts.
