Appian Customers Share Success Stories at Gartner BPM Summit

CME Group and UPS to Deliver Case Studies & Discuss Mobile, Cloud and Social BPM; UPS to Accept Gartner 2011 BPM Excellence Award Win

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Apr 25, 2011) - Appian, the global innovator in enterprise and cloud-based business process management (BPM) software, today announced its customers CME Group and UPS will share their BPM success stories in a series of events at the Gartner BPM Summit taking place April 27-29 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore, Maryland. Appian is a Premier Sponsor of the event.

Derrick Hill, Technology Services Group Manager at UPS, will present a case study on "BPM Driving Business Value" on Friday, April 29 at 9:00am in Grand Ballroom 6. The case study will overview UPS' use of Appian's business process management software in support of a mandate from the company's CIO to deliver better, faster service at reduced cost. With more than 100 process applications deployed, UPS has improved operational efficiencies, enhanced customer service excellence, and generated significant cost-savings.

In addition, Mr. Hill will share his insights and expertise in an exclusive "Gartner 2011 BPM Excellence Award Winner" roundtable hosted by Gartner analyst Daryl Plummer. UPS was named the Winner in the category of Furthering BPM Disciplines. The panel will take place on Wednesday, April 27 at 3:15pm in the Dover A Room.

John Verburgt, Director of Business Process Management at CME Group, will also present a BPM success case study on "Building the Business Case for BPM." CME Group began its BPM program using Appian in the cloud, and then brought the program on-premise for deployment of a long list of applications, including New Product Introduction, HR Onboarding and much more. Mr. Verburgt will outline the factors crucial to setting a BPM project up for success, accelerating deployment and demonstrating business value. Mr. Verburgt will speak on Thursday, April 28 at 10:00am in Grand Ballroom 5.

Both customers will also participate in a panel discussion on "Mobile, Cloud and Social BPM" during Appian's Solution Provider Session on Thursday, April 28 at 1:45pm in Grand Ballroom 1-4.
