Apple Pay Now Available to Mountain America Members Offering an Easy, Secure & Private Way to Pay

WEST JORDAN, UT--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2015) - Mountain America Credit Union now offers its customers access to Apple Pay, a new category of service that transforms mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay.

Now credit union members can add their current Mountain America Visa Debit or Credit Cards to Apple Pay. In stores, members can pay easily and securely with their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and they can also make purchases within apps with Apple Pay using the newest iPhones and iPads.

Apple Pay is easy to set up and members will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by Mountain America Credit Union.

"Mountain America is very pleased to bring Apple Pay to our members," said Sterling Nielsen, President/CEO of Mountain America. "The latest in a series of progressive products, Apple Pay provides Mountain America members with yet another value-added service with improved convenience, security and privacy. Today's mobile-savvy consumer demands intuitive, engaging experiences at every touch point, and Apple Pay is an exciting example of our ongoing commitment to help our members succeed in the future."

Security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay. When you add a credit or debit card to Apple Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device nor on Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on the device. Each transaction is authorized with a one-time, unique dynamic security code, instead of using the security code from the back of the card.

In participating stores, Apple Pay will work with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, upon availability. Within apps, Apple Pay is compatible with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.
