Appleby College Hosts 2008 OFSAA Girls' Golf Festival

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 8, 2008) - The 2008 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations' (OFSAA) Girls' Golf Festival will be hosted by Appleby College and Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association (CISAA) and will take place Thursday, October 16 at Piper's Heath Golf Club in Milton (Hornby). This event will display the talent and dedication of student-athletes throughout the province.

Five female golfers from Appleby College have qualified for the festival. Among them is senior student Justice Durland who will contest her fourth and final OFSAA championship. In addition, more than 100 top female golfers from across Ontario, represented by 17 other athletic associations, will be in attendance for this one-day event.

On behalf of the organizing committee, Appleby invites you to cover this exciting competition. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. A celebratory banquet will conclude the festival. Special guest, Courtney Billing, an Appleby College alumna, will speak about her achievements as a pro golfer, Class A LPGA teaching professional, owner of one of the top golf schools in the southeast United States and most recently, assistant manager and club fitter for Golf Town.
