Appointment to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 27, 2008) - The Honourable Josee Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women, Official Languages and Minister for La Francophonie, today announced the appointment of Patricia (Tricia) McIver to the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada.

"Ms. McIver has an impressive background in financial accounting, which I am sure will serve as a valuable asset for the Board," said Minister Verner. "I am happy to welcome her to the CBC/Radio-Canada Board of Directors."

A Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and Trust and Estate Practitioner, Ms. McIver works at Richardson Partners Financial Limited, providing advice, direction, and action on business and family succession planning issues. She previously worked with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and ManningElliott in public accounting and with Standard Life in tax and estate planning advisory services.

Ms. McIver is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C., the Financial Planners Standards Council, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
